The Cathedral itself is free to enter, with no ticket. The passes are free for children under 7, and for disabled visitors (and possibly a carer) on checking their documents. Every free day in Europe
Opening hours
The Cathedral is closed on Sundays and during religious celebrations. The Museum closes on the first Tuesday of each month, and the whole complex on 25 December, 1 January and Easter Sunday.
Booking
Buy passes on the Opera del Duomo's own ticket site. The Dome (463 steps, no lift) needs a booked time and ID; bags must go in the left-luggage office at Piazza Duomo 38r first. The Baptistery's ceiling mosaics are hidden by restoration for now.
