Free entry

Entry to both Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau is free. A fee is charged only for a guided tour with one of the Memorial's educators (about 3½ hours, with a headset and the shuttle between the two sites); its price is shown when booking. Concessions on guided tours for pupils and students up to 26, over 75s and disabled visitors.

Opening hours

Open every day except 1 January, 25 December and Easter Sunday. Last entry from 2pm in December to 7pm in June to August (5pm in October); you can stay 90 minutes after. Earlier in the day, entry is with a guide only.

Booking

Every visitor needs a named entry pass, booked only on the Memorial's own site, visit.auschwitz.org: none are given out at the entrance. Free passes must be booked at least 7 days ahead, while they last. Bring ID, arrive 30 minutes early for security, and bring no bag larger than 35 × 25 × 15 cm. Not recommended for children under 14.
