Free entry

There's no entrance fee. On the National Park Service's free entrance days no parking tag is needed either (in 2026: 16 February, 25 May, 14 June, 3 to 5 July, 25 August, 17 September, 27 October, 11 November). Disability placard holders are exempt from the tag.

Booking

Buy a parking tag online (print it, or have it posted) or in person in the park: most trailheads have no tag machines, so buy ahead. The tag must show your number plate and be displayed on the dashboard; America the Beautiful passes don't replace it, and it doesn't guarantee a space. Tags can't be refunded or transferred.
